My name is Jia (佳), and I am a freelance artist based in Shanghai. Through lines, I seek to capture the essence of sunlight, water, stone, leaves, and the passage of time. My work reflects the captivating moments found in wild nature, parks, on streets, and the deep emotions of ladies.
Growing up in karst mountain landscape + southern China cultures + the ideals of liberalism and globalization, I enjoy swimming in wild waters and conversing to calm but vivid kids & olds I encounter.
My drawings explore the themes of birth, transformation, and the subtle ways in which things change—or, as one might say, fade away—beyond our full perception.
In my intuitive drawing process, I find solace in abstract answers that feel substantial. It is a comforting discovery to see that others resonate with my curiosities, finding meanings in my work that I had never considered.
I am working on a project drawing portraits for girls with storytelling eyes, eyes [on verge of tears]. If you're interested in co-creating, please don’t hesitate to reach out: jiasparadise@hotmail.com
